Half Barrel

Three and a half yards of screen printed white denim based off of my travels to Ireland with my family. Having some far off Irish family, we went on an adventure to learn what we could about these long heard of ancestors. What we found, or rather who we found, was someone named Francis who knew our great great uncle Tom. We found him in a bar called The Half Barrel which is where the main graphic of this print came from. The places in the background are each of the cities we visited on our adventure around the tiny green country.

The Half Barrel.

Final yardage. I found the denim tricky to stay consistent with pulls.

Color tests of the print. Green for the green in Ireland and blue for the skies on the days it’s not rainy.

I landed on the red inspired by the original The Half Barrel photo. It creates a very bold graphic.

Mixing the red.
